When to use a receipt (and when an invoice)
An invoice asks for money; a receipt confirms you got it. If a customer pays on the spot — a home repair, a market stall, a tutoring session — hand them a receipt there and then. If they will pay later, send an invoice first and a receipt when the money lands. Both take under a minute here.

What is the difference between a receipt and an invoice?
An invoice asks for payment and is sent before the money arrives. A receipt confirms payment and is given after the money has been received. If your customer has already paid, a receipt is the right document.
Is a receipt proof of payment?
Yes — a receipt that shows who paid, what for, how much and when is the standard record of a completed payment, for both the customer's and your own bookkeeping.
Can I show tax on the receipt?
Yes. Set the Tax / VAT rate and it is itemised in the totals. You can rename the label to match your country, for example "VAT" or "Sales Tax".
How do I save the receipt as a PDF?
Click Print / Save as PDF and choose "Save as PDF" in your browser's print dialog. Only the receipt itself prints — no menus, no website clutter.
Where is my data stored?
Your receipts are not stored anywhere: the receipt is built in your browser tab and nothing is sent to a server, so save or print it before closing the tab. Optional exception: if you tick "Save my business details", your own business name, address and contact line are kept in this browser on this device only, so they auto-fill next time — never uploaded, and clearable any time.
Can I use this for cash payments?
Yes. Just write "Cash" in the payment method field. A printed receipt is a sensible record whenever money changes hands in person.
Do I need an account or pay anything?
No account, no payment, no watermark. Open the page and make your receipt.
